Anticipation plays heavily into the movie going experience. One thing I have always found enjoyable is looking at the films for a given year, and determining which ones I am looking forward to the most. The reasons I look forward to different movies can vary. Often times it’s the movie itself that interests me, the new film in a franchise I like or from a favorite director; other times it’s more about how how the movie will impact the industry as a whole, like the search for the next big YA movie, or seeing if it will set a precedent for big budget original sci-fi movies succeeding. For each of the last two years, I came up with a list of the upcoming movies that I most anticipated, and after seeing each I would talk about them from both a critical and business perspective, to see how I liked them and how they might impact Hollywood as a whole. That process continues here at the Kraken.
